3-DAY COURSE
Osteopathy and classical horse schooling – healthy and fit thanks to therapy and training
Training combined with treatment, riding by Katharina and lessons
Equine osteopath Claudia individually examines and treats each participating horse as part of this course. Together with the owner she can assess the possible reasons for any existing health issues the horse has. She also checks the schooling: Does the ridden work allow and support the horse to solve these issues or does the training need to be re-assessed?
Claudia gives guidance on the therapeutic measurements and on future schooling, checks the equipment and teaches the owner how to provide individual stretching and mobilization techniques to the horse.
Katharina analyses the interaction between horse and rider. She provides therapeutic training in ridden work or lunging. In close collaboration with the owner Claudia and Katharina find ways to solve problems under the saddle and help horse and rider to develop further. The combination of correctional training and lessons allows the implementation of theoretical recommendation into practice and optimises the success of the therapy applied.
Who can participate?
Participation in our courses is advisable for all horse owners who would like to get an all-embracing assessment hand in hand with treatment, training coaching and riding lessons. Riders with horses showing signs of resistance in ridden work, with health issues or horses in rehabilitation are highly welcome!
Depending on the horse, lessons can be conducted ridden, lunging or in-hand. In every case, Katharina takes the previous experiences of the rider and the current confirmation of the horse into consideration when schooling the horse or coaching horse and rider. If you have special expectations, needs or simply more questions, please do not hesitate to contact us before booking a course.
Riding instructors, therapists, trainers and interested riders who want to gain new experiences will benefit even from taking part without their own horse. The explanations given about assessments, treatment, schooling by Katharina, lessons, equipment checks, and coaching will broaden your horizons. During the course questions are welcome if you want to know more about single steps or the guidance given.

INDIVIDUAL APPOINTMENTS
Get an individual OsteoDressage appointment at your yard!
The 3-day OsteoDressage course with a comprehensive approach for most horses and riders is a perfect way to have new experiences, correct or even re-start ridden work. However, if the horse can’t travel or has very special issues you want to discuss privately an individual appointment is more advisable. We are happy to offer the option of individual sessions in addition to our course events.
What happens at an individual OsteoDressage appointment?
We start with a proper look at the horse (without warm-up please) being lunged with a cavesson or head collar. This allows an analysis of movement in all gaits. In this first assessment phase we will also discuss problems, expectations and questions with the owner.
Please have your saddle and bridle ready with you at the indoor or outdoor arena.
Depending on the result of the first analysis Claudia will examine the horse thoroughly and start osteopathic treatment if necessary. This also includes a check of the horse’s back and the saddle fitting.
Subsequently Katharina will start correctional riding/training therapy and, depending on her findings, solve current issues. She works in close collaboration with Claudia who will provide further treatment or apply taping if necessary.
Finally, we will discuss the future training of the horse, show how to apply the tapes (if necessary) and recommend further treatment as well as next steps in schooling. Depending on the individual case and scope of treatment it may be possible to provide a riding or lunging lesson with the owner/rider afterwards.
Please feel free to take your own notes during the consultation. We are happy to provide a written assessment and training plan after the appointment.
